The Aeneid of Virgil, Part 2 (Books 6 – 12)
Wednesdays, 10 am - Noon
Facilitator: Anna Amelung
In this course we will read and discuss the second half of Virgil’s epic poem, one of the most influential books in the Western world, a sweeping epic of arms, heroes, and gods, but also an insightful portrait of human beings caught between love and duty, feeling and fate. This is indeed a book “for all time and all people.” We will also present a short panorama of Latin poetry during the Augustan age.
