Behind the Curtain: A Preview of Opera Theater of St. Louis’ 2024 Festival Season
Mondays, 1 – 3 pm
Facilitator: Rose Nester
Guided by docents from Opera Theater of St. Louis, join us to gain context and insights regarding four operas to be performed during the 2024 festival season. Each class will cover a different opera: Rossini’s funny and tuneful The Barber of Seville, Puccini’s beautiful and emotional La bohème, Handel’s political and sensual Julius Caesar, and Philip Glass’ powerful telling of Galileo Galilei. Presentations will include background information on each opera, the composer and librettist, as well as sharing the story and playing scenes from the operas.
