Puccini-ish

Puccini influenced a large number of composers. We will be listening to three operas that sound as if Puccini was looking over their shoulders. The first will be Cyrano de Bergerac by Franco Alfano, Puccini’s best pupil. Next comes The Sunken Bell by Respighi. Finally, Daniel Catan’s Il Postino will round out the class.
