Art & Architecture of Hinduism
Mondays, 10 am - 12 pm
Facilitator: Jack Renard
Join us for an introduction to the vast treasure house of Hindu visual culture. We will begin with a brief overview of the key theological themes essential to ‘reading’ major works of art and architecture, followed by two sessions focusing on architecture as the principal setting of Hindu devotion. Masterpieces of sculpture and painting will then illustrate the vibrant mythic narratives of the multiple ‘names and forms’ that identify the deities of a colorful pantheon.
