Denise Zona & Dr. Steve Radinsky honored by Missouri House of Representatives

Denise Zona, Administrative Assistant for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, and Dr. Steve Radinsky were honored by the Missouri House of Representatives for outstanding service to adults 50+ in our area during the pandemic on June 14.

Denise and Dr. Radinsky exemplify the determined, creative staff-volunteer partnership that kept the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) moving forward during challenging days.

Dr. Radinsky is a retired radiologist and his wife Myra are long-time members of OLLI.

Dr. Radinsky’s term saw the beginning of COVID-19. This includes the temporary closure of the OLLI office, the learning curve as OLLI introduced Zoom courses and then hybrid learning to its members. During his tenure as committee chair, OLLI also saw the retirement of its long-time director Katie Compton. He has provided vital support and encouragement to staff throughout all the changes, helping to lead us towards a new season of growth and innovation.

In addition to his involvement at OLLI, Dr. Radinsky has been a Contact 2 volunteer for more than 20 years and is a member of the board of Circles of Concern.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Washington University in St. Louis offers a wide variety of courses that emphasize peer learning and active class participation by senior adults. When you enroll in a course, you become a member of the OLLI family.
