Join us to learn the political history behind Bingham’s art. In 1846 Bingham stood for election to the Legislature from Saline County and won by 3 votes.  Valid votes were disqualified and the seat was awarded to his opponent. Rather than “get out of the mire of politics forever” Bingham ran again in 1848 and won.
